I just couldn't wait to update you until baby and I are well enough to really spend some time putting together some posts. So, I'll get some pics and video soon, but...
She is about to crawl!!!
She can roll over any way she wants as fast as she decides to. She sits on her own for so long- basically until she decides she's done- and she can rock back and forth and reach for things without falling over. If you put her down on her back she can roll over and be up on all fours in seconds. The rocking-back-and-forth-while-on-all-fours milestone happened like the day after she figured out how to get up on all fours at all, and a couple days ago she started being able to scoot her knees forward. It's the arms that are really holding her up, but last night she picked up and moved her hand twice while on all fours! Aaaah! You can really see her concentrating hard. She is determined to be able to move her little body wherever she wants to go. (This weekend hubby and I are doing a baby-proofing and house-cleaning party...)
Also, her growing this week hasn't been so much about size (although she is bigger) as growing older. She is longer and leaner and her face has definitely matured. She has also definitely grown cognitively, and my happy-go-lucky little girl has become very thoughtful and serious about her world. She is still a cheerful baby with a great smile, but she is a thinker! And, of course, still a mover. It's funny to watch her get this super concentrated look on her face as she diligently kicks or wiggles or rocks over and over.
I promise to capture some of this on film (or um digital pixels) soon. After our colds improve a little.
(Sorry this got so long and rambly. I blame my cold for my lack of brain.)
ttfn,
Life&Lemons
